the location

Camp Nivica is located in the heart of the Albanian south, a three hour drive south from Albania’s capital Tirana and its international airport. The camp site sits on the edge of Nivica, a rural village in the wilder parts of the Kurvelesh mountains, and overlooks Mount Këndrevica (2102 m.a.s.l) and the Nivica Canyons.

Tepelenë, the closest town at the foot of the mountains, is the birthplace of national hero Ali Pasha and once a stop for Lord Byron during his travels. It is a strategic location with closeness to Albania’s three UNESCO-sites Gjirokastra, Berat and Butrint. The village is a charming off-road drive or full-day hike through the mountains to the blue waters of the Albanian Riviera.
