During July and August the temperature is usually in the mid 30’s (degrees Celsius).
In order to join activities hiking/walking shoes with a good grip are recommended – as well as sun hat/cap, sunscreen and water bottles.
Bring warm jumper, socks, and a rain jacket – autumn in Albania means there can be sudden rains and fresh temperatures. It can get fresh sitting outside in the evening.
The water is drinkable on tap inside the bathrooms – it comes from a fresh mountain spring.
Drinks such as wine, beer, raki, softs drinks, coffee and tea are available at the Camp. We usually do not have extra snacks such as crips or chocolate.
Asphalt roads to reach Nivica village
SH4 to Tepelena and then asphalt road to Nivica village (via the villages of Progonat and Gusmar. Ca 45 minutes from Tepelena to Nivica.
From Qeparo/Borsch on the riviera via the village of Kuc. 40 minutes drive in total. Road is not on google maps, but a pin for the new asphalt road exists. https://goo.gl/maps/nHwww5rZzB1vv7Wf7
SH76 from Vlora to the village of Kote – then drive in the direction of Kuc (via the villages Gjorm, Brataj, Kallarat). Reach Kuc and make the turn towards Gusmar to Nivica village (it’s an easy drive).
If you are driving from the south (Gjirokaster or Saranda) DO NOT take the road via the village of Golem – it is a notoriously bad road where a 4x4 car is needed.
Self-drive to Camp Nivica vs pick up with 4x4 car in Nivica village
There is about a 12-15 minute (slow) drive between Nivica village and Camp Nivica.
The last 2 km of road to Camp Nivica is bad road – a 4x4 car or a vehicle with high elevation off the ground is needed.
If you are driving a smaller (rental) we highly recommend for our Camp staff to pick up/drop off with our 4x4 cars.
Please send us a Whatsapp/email with the approx. time of your arrival in Nivica village ahead of time (day before or morning of your check in). This helps information makes it easier for us to co-ordinate and plan your pickup.
